Even more pointless is people getting on zoom meetings inside the same building! If we’re not even going to meet in IRL why do I need to come to the place?

The trouble is senior management in most “traditional” orgs is not interested in the status quo changing. I work in education where the excuse is “we need to create a vibrant culture for our students”. I don’t know a single student who cares if anyone except for their professor is around.

Amen! Well put. Today marks the first day of increased return to office where I’m at. So we can all email from inside the same building more often now. Aka, a soft layoff.

Thank you for this post Adam! Remote work is one of the few big wins that millennials have won in the workforce (+ expanded parental leave).

While I'm currently in a role within the defense sector ineligible for remote opportunities, I'm excited to watch the expansion of remote work culture for when I someday tire of the mission and pivot career plans!
