I can only predict the 2 parties will continue to become infested with left/right woke radicals as the primary system locks out common sense moderates.
Eventually we’re gonna wake up and see a Congress which reflects the absolute worst of America and billionaires will fund a 3rd party. Not crazy about billionaires but the working middle and billionaires will need to team up to fix this one.
Come on Adam. Your piece on the results of the 2024 election was one of the best post mortems written (esp the call out of inauthenticity) and I shared it widely. You can see what's going on here.
The only moral clarity that will be relavent in 2026 is the moral clarity to call out Genocide, apartheid, collective punishment, and ethnic cleansing. This incredibly simple display of backbone is apparently impossible for mainstream dems and Republicans.
2026 IS a litmus test on Israel and basic humanity and that is ok. It is a litmus test on the willingness to reject dehumanizing, and murder of innocents. It is a litmus test to show if America learned the lessons of the holocaust and genocides of the past and have courage to call them out today.
Oh no he hAd a bAd tAtTOo I doNt liKe. MaMdAMi iS a jIHaDisT. Such cope. For zionists, every candidate who doesn't support Israel is bad guy. Got it.
Vast majority of progressive and right leaning under 35s will vote for America first, anti Israel candidates. Whether they be left or right matters less.
Glad you enjoyed the prior piece. I think you are missing the point of this story today.
This piece has nothing to do with Israel policy. It’s about whether a U.S. Senate candidate with an SS death camp symbol, a record of praising a terrorist attack, and comments about rape victims is disqualifying—and what it says that prominent voices are bending over backwards to defend it.
You can make any argument you'd like. But this election IS about Israel policy and the discourse will continue to go there regardless.
2026 is patently, manifestly, objectively, about Israel.
Just as '24 was a referendum on woke, as you called out better than anyone. 26 is a referendum on Israel. Mamdami, Platner, El-sayed, Fishneck. Look at any rising political figure it IS the common link. Doesn't matter if they are a great person or scumbag... its an 80/20 issue.
I am a former Marine, yet know nothing about Mr Platner. Still, you must surely realise neither the Nazi Party nor any of its admirers today ever secured themselves exclusive legal right to display the death's head design. It's an ancient design and even today is on flags waving from just about any Billy Bubba's pick-up. In general anyone wanting to signal a bad-ass outlook is a good candidate for displaying the design somewhere. The very name 'Jolly Roger' is meant only ironically. The implication is 'Anyone who believes it is 'jolly', must truly be a real bad-ass.
Up thru WWI, various European nations' cavalry units sported the death's head to remind themselves and anyone who wanted to tangle to watch out for some real bad-asses. Until 1945, German tanker uniforms were black to hide grease and had death heads on their lapels to show they were from the same bad-ass mold as General Mackensen's 1st Life Hussars.
The SS, wore it on their caps. Try a little logic. Because the SS wore death heads to signal bad-assery, does displaying a death's head mean one must sympathise with Nazis? How about just letting it go as adolescent attitude? Get your skivvies in a knot, only if you also see swastikas or SS runes. Maybe you can find something Mr Platner actually said showing he has true Nazi sympathies. Otherwise, get a life. Man up and find some solid reason for disliking him.
Plenty of his other actions (I mentioned several here) are disqualifying even without this. But just remember this is not a normal skull - it's a very specific one from a specific time and place he's referenced directly.
And also, I greatly appreciate your service, my father (RIP) was in the military and I have great respect for service members
When not used to warn others off from poisons, the lugubrious death's head symbol is meant to chill others. It goes way, way back and Nazis never secured its exclusive use. If hard evidence of Mr Platner's anti-Jewishness is there, cite that all day, then adding that he is temperamentally just a Billy-Bubba level adolescent makes sense too. If you don't like his party and social policy stance, those are something else again.
Stationed in Germany, we were told about overt displays of Nazi imagery, no matter how "historic". And Platner had it for 18 years? And had it covered when inconvenient? JudgmentFail^10.
And then there's his statements about women, Hamas, and Israel.
And, while legal, his grift of the veteran disability system ($5k per month, tax free), is a flag. (Although probably a plus for many on the parasite left).
Mid-wit ayyhole wannabes like Platner are, sadly, not rare in the combat arms. I've known a few. They served honorably, but I wouldn't trust them house-sitting my cat much less having a US Senate seat.
Thanks. Our political system is unfortunately representative of an increasingly, socially-sick, electorate.
In some good news it looks like (at least the Groyper contingent) is not real life (https://x.com/RichardHanania/status/2051815213197074818). That group is clearly to me astroturfed popularity via our enemies overseas

The people of Israel are beautiful, Netanyahu not so much!

No.
