I think the problem with most modern dialogue is that it is monologue in clever disguise.

Recognizing it is key, learning how to respond/react is a whole nother thing. Realizing that it's timeless and global is a good reminder too. Would love to know what the proper response is, I bet the Russians have some good counters to this...
