Someone with 1,000 people who actually care will run circles around someone with 1 million subscribers barely paying attention
Another good one, Adam!
D E N SI T Y ! "The magic of the internet is not mass, it’s niche." Gracias Adam !!!
loved this, thanks for sharing. also, love that substack is a far more receptive place for thinking like this than standard feed-driven social platforms (which mostly turn me off at this point).
Great article, Adam - and I don't only say that because I have such a small network myself...
Huge follower numbers are a heuristic for "quality", but a very flawed one. We also collectively believe that networks and network effects are causally linked in every instance. Yet so many huge networks have no connections between the nodes.
Thank you for sharing!
You only have a few seconds to capture anyone's attention these days. 💯
Attention is the new currency. Good post
I always find myself re-reading a few of your pieces whenever I want to make sure my head is on straight - this one's getting added to that list. Thanks, Adam.
I am a year into Substack and trying to spread information about what we know about personal finance from economic science. This post is spot on. Who isn't better off learning and experiencing knowledge in a smaller class than a larger class?. For the past couple of weeks I have tried to figure out how to offer a new Substack experience to "Personal Finance Economics" and today I know more.
