I LOVE this. My fave or your posts this far. I didn’t come into philosophy until my 20s and am now a huge believer in rebellion and DIY ethos. I learned to play guitar under the “three chords and the truth” m.o. (but I still suck!). The best creatives I know are all in some way “weirdos” (I say that with love in my heart). They eschew the common and search for the kernel of light and then build on that. Whether the ROI is positive or negative these efforts remains to be seen but it brings fulfillment to those who practice. Thanks for the post.
In media there is a dark omen called "changing consumer preferences" and an adaptation to new modes of content quality that more or less dooms every new media project eventually. The American internet is an extremely fickle creation.
Creators have to leverage exaggerations for algorithms, and sentiment manipulation for attention. Unfortunately that's a very bad formula for all parties involved. It usually ends in heartbreak.
The world is made for and by stupid people.

I hear you Adam.
But to be very honest some of us cannot afford “creativity” We try but some of us have to eat.
