Nice, been thinking a lot about this recently after using Runway on some of my photos.

AI is just a tool... and you're right, anyone who's actually been on the internet properly knows that culture is a remix and the internet is that, just running at 10,000 rpm.

Having content mimicked, stolen and whatever is a sure sign that you're doing well - because it's something worth stealing.

And on the internet, that's a huge compliment because 99.9% is banal shit anyway.

A few months ago I had my first copy and paste, I made the most of it - I shared it around and called the guy out, that's more attention for me... it was a compliment that my writing was worth stealing.

Also, I've known plenty who still don't understand any of this - they think their cookie cutter approaches are 'trade secrets' and do all they can to control things as change is uncomfortable for them. Yet the irony is they have nothing to say anyway out of 'fear' of the 'market'.

But that's another rant!

i agree with you, but i'm not sure many minds will change. rather i think the copy/paste trend will scare away would-be litigious creators, an equally acceptable outcome.
